HOW DO YOU DEFINE LOVE???...

WHAT IS LOVE?

When I think about love, I think about the emotions that it brings to me.  I find myself to be in an estranged place where directions are not too clear. My heart beats fast each time I think about him. When I see him from far coming towards me I can’t wait to have him right next to me. In his arms I feel at home; my pj’s are on and I don’t want to go anywhere. In love, I feel young, and naive, strong yet vulnerable, free yet captive of his existence, certain and at times unsure. I feel like I’ve gone back to school; my hand is up  I have a million and one questions about this life’s lesson, some of which I’ve received answers to right away and others,  I’ve learned on the way.

Love is an emotion that is driven by a dream of falling IN love with that special someone. Love is bitter and it is sweet.  Love is strengthened or weakened by words that are said and by actions taken. Love influences for better or for worst. Love is happy and sad. Love is a promise that for ever does exist. Love is joy and it is pain.  Love has different faces, different voices. Love is powerful; love has a message. Love brings hope and love is faith. Love sits still until it is found.

The dictionary defines love as a strong positive emotion of regard and affection; it can be any object of warm affection or devotion; it is to have a great affection or liking for someone or something like food.  Love is also a feeling of strong attachment induced by that which delights or commands admiration; preeminent kindness or devotion to another; affection; tenderness; as, the love of brothers and sisters.

Mother Teresa once said “We can do no great things, only small things with great love.”

The bible says   “4 Love is patient and kind;
it is not jealous or conceited or proud;
5 love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;
love does not keep a record of wrongs;
6 love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.
7 Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.
8 Love is eternal.” 1 Corinthians chapter 13 (4-8)

So when one asks the question what is love?  I think it is safe to say that love is multifaceted.

How do you define L.O.V.E? Tell me...

Sincerely,
Danushka C

  3. Love is making it work No matter what.

    Love is exploring your options, in order to make it work.

    Love is being strong enough to let it go and having faith that it’ll come back to you.
